Welcome to OCCP
The Ohio College of Clinical Pharmacy is a chapter of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. Our vision is to advance the common interests of clinical pharmacists to enhance patient care.
The purposes of this organization shall be to:
- promote the rational use of medications in society;
- advance the principles and practice of clinical pharmacy in the state of Ohio;
- promote the full time,advanced practice of clinical pharmacy;
- encourage and communicate state-of-the-art research in clinical pharmacy;
- provide an advanced level of continuing education programs in the area of clinical pharmacy;
- provide a forum for the expression of opinions on pharmacy practice, education and research from the perspective of clinical pharmacists; and
- support, promote and advance the goals and objectives of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy as outlined in its Constitution and Bylaws
- provide a local recruiting base for ACCP

The OCCP Meeting Planning Committee is soliciting presentation proposals for the 2015 OCCP Spring Meeting which will be held on May 29, 2015 at the Cleveland Airport Marriott at 4277 West 150th Street, Cleveland, Ohio. ACPE credit will be provided for selected presentations.
The educational goal of this program is to update the pharmacist on current clinical topics in the ambulatory and inpatient settings. The target audience for this program includes clinical pharmacy practitioners, educators, students, and scientists. Healthcare professionals including pharmacists and pharmacy residents are encouraged to submit proposals for the following presentation areas: Keynote (i.e. Innovations in Clinical Pharmacy, Collaborative Practices, Innovations in Transitions of Care), Updates in Ambulatory Care Pharmacy (30 or 60 minute presentations), Updates in Acute Care Pharmacy (30 or 60 minute presentations), and New Drug updates (15 minute presentations).
Please submit your presentation proposal here. Proposals will be accepted through February 22, 2015. The OCCP Meeting Planning Committee will review all proposals. Responses to volunteers will be provided by February 27, 2015. All speakers will be provided complimentary meeting registration that includes access to all meeting materials and presentations as well as breakfast and lunch.

Do you work with physicians, nurses, administrators or public health officials that support expanded vaccination abilities for pharmacists? If so, House Bull 394 will be having a proponent testimony hearing on November 19th. You can help move the profession forward by collecting written testimony in favor of the bill or by identifying proponents that are able to attend the hearing in person. Dear Ohio College of Clinical Pharmacy (OCCP) Membership,
It is with great pleasure that we announce the winners of the 2013 OCCP Student Travel Scholarship
which was approved at the spring 2013 meeting. This scholarship is intended to support student travel
to the 2013 annual American College of Clinical Pharmacy meeting in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We
approved two separate scholarships for up to $1,000 per recipient.
As you can imagine, we had very qualified candidates from across the state and thank all those who
applied. This year’s winners are Elizabeth Legros and Mary (Liz) Fredrickson both from the College of
Pharmacy at Northeast Ohio Medical University. We would like to thank the OCCP nominations
committee for selecting our winners and the OCCP members for being supportive of our students.
